In my experience as a dog owner, my dogs have become very comfortable with their collars over time. I always ensure that the collar fits them properly and is not too tight, and when they are starting out as a puppy, I will reward them with treats and praise them when they wear them.

Normally after a couple of weeks with a properly fitted collar a puppy will show no signs of discomfort or resistance when you put their collar on.

Personally, I choose to take off my dog's collar when I know they will be home and inside for a while as I would not want to be wearing a collar myself, so I feel they would prefer not to as well.
